The Emulator Institute

(demo/.ca/1991+) - TEI

Canadian PC demo group, founded around 1991.

I have been asked by a lamer called Nocturnus to write an article for his lame magazine so here it is, : ) .
Those of you who are into demos and the you might have heard of a small group called The Emulator Institute, TEI.
TEI is concentrating mostly from the 514 area code, and is probably the best demo crew in all of canada.
Just recently TEI released there first demo cal led StereoType, if you want to get a copy of it cal led The PARANORMAL SHOP or you can even ftp at ftp.uwp.edu.
I bet you would like to know just who is in TEL here is a list of everybody that is part of the team,
(in no particular order), Optimum Bytes, Dyna Byte, Digital Force, VIP, Optic Shadow, Black Cat, Snibble, The BBS Bouncer and PSYKE.
To get in touch with TEL you can call any of our headquarter boards or drop us a letter at
The Emulator Insitute; P.O. Box 5237; St. Laurent, Quebec; H4L-4Z8.

Here is the history of TEL started about 2—3 years ago by Dyna Byte, Digital Force and Optimum Bytes who were three
coders going to the same school, and shared the same modeming coders going to the same school, and shared the same modeming
hobby. Shortly after, The BBS Bouncer (me) asked for a loader being the lamer that I was.
Digital Force called my board to check it out and we got to talk and TEI needed expand.
Since none of the 01' TEI boys phreaked throughout america or even called long distance at all,
I took it upon myself to look for some long distance boards that would be interested in supporting TEI
I knew that TEI would grow to be a great group when after showing the loaders that the crew had done
that most sysops agreed to have their board affiliated with TEI group when after showing the loaders that the crew had done.

I got the group so many sites and headquarter boards that it was just too much, since at the time we were
doing;releasing nothing so one day DF just said that we needed to drop some boards.
As you might know we dropped them all and only have four boards affiliated with TEI right now (i could be wrong) .
Anyways, along the way TEI kept growing adding names like VIP, Optic Shadow, Black Cat, PSYKE and just recently the almight Snibble.

Group history featured in Maniac Magazine 1.
