Development of Digitrakker started in 1994 and ended with version 3.2 in January 1997. It introduced the MDL file format, but also supported a wide range of other formats, including import and export of Fasttracker compatible XM files.

The program was published as Shareware. A license to get rid of any "reminder messages" and interruptions cost 20 DM or 15 USD.
