Vortex 42 was a Swedish C64 and Amiga demo group. They were originally formed around may or june 1987 when The Limit Crew changed their name.¹ The group died late the same year, when Rygar, Bilbo, Blade, Judge and Radius joined members from The Warlocks and Alpha Range 89 in forming a new group called Science 451. Vortex 42 later reappeared on the Amiga.

On the weekend of may 13th to 15th 1988, the group arranged the Vortex 42 Computer Meeting 1988 in Arvika, Sweden. Main organizer was Zaphod.
