Phoenix (standard casing) aka PNX was founded by Cyber Angel in April 12, 1994 as a large release group.

The first calendar-month of our existence is over... Since our first release April 12, 1994 we have put out 51.6 mb of programs! I would like to congratulate all of the PNX crew on this great job and assure everyone else that we will keep those releases coming! CA

This is mostly unrelated to PHOENIX aka PHX founded in 1990 that released game trainers. Though Dr. Detergent was a member in both groups.

An nfo that came with the DOD release of ARCSERVE 5.01f on 1 march 1995 announced the entire group PHOENIX had merged into DOD - meaning the end of the group, and that Cyber Angel, Joker, Ivy League, Kidcapri, Junkman, Jumbo, Dark Soul, Great White, Caligula and Kaptain Kaos were now members of DOD.

This meant the end of the group.
