Clean Crack Band

- CCB

Clean Crack Band was a French Apple II cracking group founded in Paris in 1982. Its two key members, Aldo Reset and Laurent Rueil, were media-friendly and, like their US contemporaries, the Apple Mafia, were happy to be interviewed and written about by the press. And probably due to their overexposure and prolific number of cracks, they became a household name for many French microcomputer owners of the early 1980s.

In the December 1984 issue "Ca m'intéresse" magazine, Laurent Rueil lists his age as 20, and Aldo Reset as 19. The article writes, Our duo affirms that they respect software authors. They only circulate their cracked copies within a small circle of friends, "What we like is 'cracking' a program while changing as few things as possible; we're 'clean' crackers, as opposed to others who crack like bastards.
