Right now i'm in the middle of the training phase of my civil service. In Finland every male has to do either the military service or the civil service. If you want to do what everyone else does, if you want to subject yourself to something ridiculous called 'discipline', if you want to learn useful skills like avoiding responsibility, smoking, and how to jack off in bed without anyone noticing, you do the military service. It lasts 6 months (minimum), 9 months (most common) or 12 months (for disturbed people). If you want to live at home, if you want to do something that's useful in the future (career-wise), if you want to live a normal life outside working hours, if you want to travel around Finland by train for free, you do the civil service, which lasts 13 months. The first month is the training phase, which means spending the weekdays in the middle of nowhere, listening to 2 boring lectures a day, and being utterly bored for the rest of the day. That's what my life has been for the past couple of weeks, fortunately there's only 5 or 6 days to go. So, if I remember right, I tracked this tune during the weekend after the first week I spent at the training phase.
