The MagiC Game Contest '99 is the first annual Atari competition held in conjunction with two of the largest Atari information sites. MagiC Online
[http://bengy.atari.org] owned by Bengy Collins (collins@bulli.com) and The Place 2 be [http://place2be.de] owned by Jan Daldrup (jan@place2be.de)
The goal of this contest was to create a GEM conversion of a classic game. In the end, there were 10 entries. (Though one entrant was disqualified for premature release of entry)
This contest could not have been possible without the support of its generous sponsors. Prizes were sponsored from the following Atari dealers, businesses, and enthusiasts:
Application Systems Heidelberg
ROM Logic
Atari Computing Magazine
Mario Becroft Systems
M.u.C.S
Woller Systems
June Audio
Didier Mquignon

One of the last great online competitions - I got the seventh place, but there were lots of prices for everyone. Looking at the entries, I was surprised that a Sokoban clone beat the much more ambitious entries Fanwor and Asteroids.
