Held in Tysvær Arena, just outside Haugesund. A computer party with both creative and gaming competitions. The organizers want more creative competitions to branch out and reach a bigger audience. We have crew with experience from Black Valley, The Gathering, Lano, NaIT and many other parties.
Post pandemic the party has gone down to about 80 participants, many of them quite young. They used to have around 300 of more varied ages. Not having had any parties for four years has affected the local computer party community. Many of those who used to come have moved away for studies or simply didn't notice the party was taking place. Changes in advertising laws and social media changes have made it harder to reach our audience as well.
A nice amount of people did show up at the stage for the compo show, which was promising. Despite technical difficulties and not that many entries, a there were quite a few votes. As some of the gamers had already left, about 1/3 or so of the participants voted/handed in entries. As this type of competition is a new thing to do at this party series, the turn out was considered acceptable.
Participants reported back to the crew that they enjoyed the voting and creative part of the party as that was something new to them, and they felt included.
I'll try to post the images and links to the music in time.
