merry christmas.
our first coding compo has finally reached the end.
as regards the compo, only two coders really tried to make
small bump, beta and 216. beta was almoust the winner for
sure, untill 216's bump arrived day before the deadline.
nevertheless, there were some bugs in the rules.
first of all, there should have been a rule which forces
you to make the intro <esc> exitable. 216 & beta used this
bug; those intros aren't exitable (however, beta included a
version which can be exitted from). secondly, i told the
size of the smallest intro. size of the smallest intro wasn't
very encouraging. almoust nobody did even try to make a
smaller one.
here's the rules for this compo (if someone is interested) :
- there must be bumped codex-text. it must be atleast quarter of
screen area large (in 320*200 resolution it would be 110*100).
- lowest resolution allowed : 320*200. moving light source required.
- has to work on 486 / 66 with s3 video card.
- no size limits; who makes smallest, wins.
- no contribution limits. no co-ups.
the next compo will probably be held in the beginning of 1997.
