20 Meehnutz Chipcompo

20 Meehnutz Chipcompo (or 20mc for short) were a series of chip competitions that were hosted on IRC (originally #chipcompo on efnet, then later moved to Anothernet) by aMUSiC/Bass Prod., with a few more crew joining in later editions: Floss/KFMF as the votepack arranger, Cyberdemon/KFMF as a second organizer, and pandoRRa as the vote collector. The concept idea of a competition about making chip modules in twenty minutes was originally conceived by Darkheart and Deathbringer. It ran for seven months, from September 1995 up till April 1996.

The rules for these compos were as follows:
* Each participant are given sample packs to create a chip module in twenty minutes (+10min extra to polish and lend in) with the provided samples, and are all detuned to avoid ready-made patterns and to prevent cheating.
* Maximum filesize is 20kb, and should not go over the initial filesize.
* Maximum amount of channels is four, XM/MOD/S3M.
* Participants are given two days time to vote entries from a scale of 0 to 10 (without self-voting their own entries); if no participant have voted at all or aren't in the #chipcompo channel they're considered disqualified.
