WELCOME TO THE THIRD RELEASE OF YM ROCKERZ. AN ATARI ST BASED CHIPMUSIC LABEL. ...BUT WHY "POPSTARS?" I HEAR YOU ASKING. WELL IN SOME WAY THIS IS WHAT WE ARE. WE ARE SO FAMOUS THAT SOME PAPER MAGAZINES DO INTERVIEWS WITH US OR STRANGELY SOMEONE IS ON TV (HEY GWEM!). WE ARE SILENTLY INVADING THE INDUSTRY WITHOUT THEM RECOGNIZING US. WE ARE NOT THEIR MARIONETTES! IT'S JUST THE OTHER WAY ROUND... THE INDUSTRY ALWAYS LAMENT THAT ONLY THE INTERNET AND MP3-SWAPPING IS KILLING THEIR MARKET... BUT THIS IS ONLY A LITTLE PART OF THE PROBLEM. THE STUPID INDUSTRY IS JUST RELEASING SHIT! MORE SHIT! AND MORE SHIT EVERYDAY! THEIR INFLUENCE ON THE MASSES IS SO HUGE THAT THEY SELL WHAT THEY RELEASE... BUT IF IT'S NOT SHIT THEN IT WON'T BE SOLD... AND THE MASSES ARE SO FUCKING STUPID THAT THEY JUST EAT WHAT THE FUCKING MAJORS GIVE THEM TO EAT... LIKE A HUNGRY DOG... NOT LOOKING TO THE LEFT OR TO THE RIGHT... NOT RECOGNIZING THAT THERE IS LOTSA "GOOD" MUSIC BESIDES THE SHIT THAT RADIO STATIONS AND MUSIC TELEVISION ARE BROADCASTING. QUOTE FROM SAGAT "FUK DAT" - "I HEAR THE SAME 5 SONGS... 15 TIMES A DAY... FOR 3 MONTHS...FUK DAT!" ... HELL HE WROTE THAT HIP HOP TRACK BACK IN 1994 AND HE WAS RIGHT... AND IT'S MORE THAN WORSE IN 2003. IT'S WAR IN IRAQUE... SO NO PSYCHOSCROLL THIS TIME. RESPECT TO UNDERGROUND RESISTANCE, DETROIT. OUR POSTURE FOLLOWS YOUR WAY. 3 CHANNELS ARE ENOUGH - DIAL 0800 YM ROCKERZ! LOTEK STYLE (MC LASER) OF TSCC-YM ROCKERZ-VINYL KARTELL KLANGKOLLEKTIV. nemo at the keys with my part for the scrolltext. well i could start with some boring bits about the making of the tune 'double danger action agents'. the original short melody sequence was done far back in 2002 and was intended to evolve into a tune for undercover mag 23. part of that tune was also a bass-sequence that was changed slightly later to become the strange bass that you now hear nearly throughout the whole song. all in all this root tune sounded much darker and conspicious. inspiration came from the german movie '23' which deals with the life and death of the infamous german hacker karl koch. working title for the track was 23 as well. anyway, summer came and ucm was scheduled for a late summer release. i felt that a 'summer tune' would be more appropriate, so in the end ucm23 was released with a different song. i took up on 23 afterwards but changed the sound design completely. now it was very chippy silly game soundtrack like, with straight bd/sd drumming, changed bass sequence etc. at this time the name was changed to 'double danger action agents'. the name was inspired by a belt with the inprint 'action agents' a friend of mine wore. the call for the next ymrockerz compilation came and i thought about releasing this tune there. i changed my mind and started working on some more 'serious' stuff. somewhere during this time i loaded the tune again, changed the sound design again and thought it was the right amount of serious sillyness that would be releasable. lots of mixing, tweaking, kicking out of parts followed to make it a bit more consistent. it's not a very complex melodic piece of chipmusic but i hope it's still enjoyable for some. ok that's about it. there'll be a conspiracy remix with original and unused parts sometime somewhere. see you all in dresden. Yo! Greetings from Sweden, this is dubmood from Razor1911 fingering them keys. First I want to say thanks alot to the rockerz for letting me do my Atari comeback in their superior musicdisc. THANKS ALOT! =) Then I want to remind you all about our chipvinyl project with Fyllecell, keep your eyes open for that one! Dub-greets to Razor1911, Fyllecell, Paradox (Hi Alien), Fairlight (Hello Maktone! Sup Bliss?) Noice, Overlanders (Hi Jess), Scoopex (hello Viruz666). Superdub-greets to all YMrockerz! to daggerr, zabutom (smek) and kootiee, where you at?) ok... i want you to stare intently at the screen, look at the edge of screen where it joins with the black border. is it moving in a weird way? good! i can now reveal my identity - its gwEm! and i'm now directly accessing your mind using only the power of this atari!!! but just one moment... you are using real atari hardware to watch this disc aren't you? of course, why would you be using a crappy emulator when you can go to a local flea-market and get the authentic sound! you know in france and germany you can pick up a cheap atari st for 10 euro? but perhaps you're from rip-off britain? things here are not so cool - people are charging too much for their secondhand ataris - like 200 euro!!! come on dudes you're taking the fuck1ng pi$$... i don't care that cubase is included in the price... the music softwares i use are found free on the net!!! ever since i saw my first scroll text on a cracked version of 'star wars' in 1987 i always wanted to write one myself - to big up my mates and disrespect my ememies... now 15 years on and thanx to this ym rockerz compilation i have my chance (sound fx: evil laughter) i wanna shout out to some real atari sceners -> my favourite ym rockers dma-sc and lotek style, iso, and a big up to cream_hq for play-sid and jam now to some record labelz -> my friends at my own record label 'preromanbritain' col and stu - thanx 4 all! big thankyous to shitkatapult records. slammin' vinyl - cheers for the breakbeat sample :) to all at micromusic - hi!! now a message to drx and bern from bodenstandig 2000 - you are still the coolest guys... but before this gets too much like an award ceremony i will finish with big kisses to ella(xx) to kingkas (xx for the drumming and the 1001 other things) also to manou(xxx). lastly props to hannah for going to south america and not singing vocals on my track, so forcing me to re-edit the music into an instrumental. this may sound strange but the only modern music i heard in the past few months that is really inspiring me is from the atari scene, so i'm pretty proud that i can be a part of it even in this small way. 12kHz rulez....gwEm out... .. . Hi everybody!! Diz Is Crazy Q at the keyboard. You probably don't know who I am, so I will tell you all a little about myself.
