The gears loader!

Dan (Lord Zombie) was a highschool kid. He wrote the first version of this intro in PASCAL, and uploaded it to Candyland and (IIRC) DM'd me/Dave (Candyman) to talk about it. I'm sure this was on a Friday.

I downloaded it and ran it. It flickered like HELL, and was SLOW. At this time Dan hadn't done anything for us, I hadn't spoken to him, and I didn't care. So, I responded to his message "PASCAL sucks, you need to rewrite this in assembly, and you need to learn what the vertical blank interval is." Monday morning when I got to work and logged into Candyland, there was a new upload from him. And it was BUTTERY smooth. Over the weekend he had went to the bookstore and bought books on the VGA controller, and assembly language programming, and had completely rewritten it. We made him a member, and he wrote intros for us. He would give them to me in source form, I would edit the scroll message (just a string), and assemble them into a loader.

I remember nothing about the game, just another crack in a long string of cracks.
