UK garage (UGK) is a style of bass-heavy, syncopated electronic music that originated in the UK in the second half of the 1990s as a distinctly British variety of garage house. It incorporated several sub-styles such as speed garage and 2-step. Later, this style became the foundation of other UK dance music styles such as dubstep, grime, and UK funky.
