Demozoo staff and "powerusers" explore not just the usual pouet/kestra/csdb etc. stes, but also utilise forgotten and unusual resources to build up this DB.
Let's post such things here!
Just doubling my post from Demozoo's FB page:
The Demozoo staff uses a lot of resources to build up its database, including scene databases and compendia that surfaced at the dawn of the Internet. Such a compendium is SCENET, (https://www.scene.org/dir.php?dir=%2Fmags%2Fscenet/) a sceners' mail adresses and homepages list compiled by Ghandy/Gods in the second half of the 1990s, when the Internet was still young, exciting and often ugly. Combining the URLs found in these lists with the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine, we are able to look at old group homepages and reconstruct group histories and membership structures. See https://www.google.de/search?q=%22web.archive.org%22+site%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fdemozoo.org for entries with Wayback Machine links and explore old scene homepages!
