Fix me beautiful

tomaes: Text put in there, thanks! That's awesome trivia :)

Kris: Edited out the Scoopex bit, is it ok now? Also, big fan of your graphics back in the day, honored to have you as a visitor here :)

Thank you! :)

"Originally made for Intel's 30sec Demo Trailer Competition, the final version is just about one minute long."

You might want to change that first screenshot. :)

tomaes - 12:35 25 January 2014 #

(also, I did this: http://demozoo.org/productions/53935/ If you don't agree or have a different idea, please tell)

ltk_tscc - 12:43 25 January 2014 #

tomaes: If you ask me: NICE IDEA. What I personally do is tagging erotic stuff with an XXX.

tomaes - 12:59 25 January 2014 #

I use the more general NSFW tag, which also includes gore and naked bodies. XXX to me means porn. A lot of the scene stuff involving naked women (and saulin's penis :P) is just silly juvenile stuff driven by puberty and bad taste, so XXX might be a bit much, as long as it does not involve sexual intercourse etc. ;)

Bartoshe - 14:37 25 January 2014 #

the prod : http://demozoo.org/productions/6451/ as nothing related with barti/nooon or lcf/laurent

T-101 - 03:25 26 January 2014 #

... and as I look at it now, it surely does not

menace - 09:02 26 January 2014 #

tomaes: I see someone fixed the note about Tactical Battle Loop; I additionally did some work on the competition itself (adding the remaining entries, credits for all of them, dates).

Concerning the x-rated images sometimes viewable on this site, thanks for taking the time to tag them. As you can see on our GitHub tracker, we have plans for dealing with this in a much better way in the future: https://github.com/demozoo/demozoo/issues/36 - and I have added links to this discussion for that purpose.

Marq - 14:33 26 January 2014 #

The two tunes marked as composed by Pete/Fit aren't by him.
http://demozoo.org/sceners/3111/

ltk_tscc - 15:28 26 January 2014 #

Marq: removed.

argasek - 14:22 27 January 2014 #

http://demozoo.org/sceners/21358/ - please delete. It's a result of misspelling my nickname in the results.txt file from some party ;). Thx

ltk_tscc - 14:31 27 January 2014 #

argasek: done.

tomaes - 16:29 27 January 2014 #

http://demozoo.org/productions/716/

About the note: This is not a re-release as such, but a complete remake of the original MS-DOS demo as an hardware accelerated Windows demo.

argasek - 18:12 27 January 2014 #

ltk: thanks, another two:

1) http://demozoo.org/sceners/10864/ and http://demozoo.org/sceners/31030/ is the same guy.
2) Diabolous (http://demozoo.org/sceners/29745/) is the old nickname of Binar (http://demozoo.org/sceners/10173/) - fact mentioned on the Korozone homepage (http://jam_krz.republika.pl/korozone/)

ltk_tscc - 20:00 27 January 2014 #

tomaes: note changed.

argasek: both merged.

irokos - 02:02 29 January 2014 #

http://demozoo.org/sceners/38767/ - Titans on meth is not a scener but a group.
Subgroup of Titan.

irokos - 02:05 29 January 2014 #

http://demozoo.org/groups/46911/ i created the said subgroup already and linked all of the prods. I think you can remove the user profile.

dipswitch - 02:16 29 January 2014 #

irokos: done

The note should mention, that you need a GUS at 220h base address (in DosBox the default is 240, because of the SB16 emulation at 220h), otherwise you get no sound.

menace - 13:35 29 January 2014 #

tomaes: Added - and superthanks for the continued flow of screenshots for this and many, many other productions :)

tomaes - 19:58 29 January 2014 #

menace: My pleasure. :)

Speaking of screenshots, can you delete those for Dreamchild / ASD (http://demozoo.org/productions/67523/) they don't really show anything of the demo and I already made a batch of new ones to replace them. :)

menace - 12:37 30 January 2014 #

tomaes: They're gone (hope original uploader sdr doesn't mind too much, and sees that the new ones will be an upgrade.) :)

tomaes - 20:12 30 January 2014 #

http://demozoo.org/productions/19163/

Contrary to what the note says, this demo also works in VESA 1.2, it just falls back on black and white (paletted 8-bit grayscale). And it looks a lot creepier that way. :)

menace - 09:50 31 January 2014 #

tomaes: Edited in your note. Thanks for the info! :)

tomaes - 10:10 31 January 2014 #

http://demozoo.org/productions/37130/

A lot of PC Demoscene references in this C64 demo. The messages / texts and even bits of the music (the 303 "emulation" part) resemble those found in Purge's "Totraum 209" and their demo "Ich kann euch sehen".

menace - 11:57 31 January 2014 #

tomaes: If it's all the same to you, I'll hold off on this information until https://github.com/demozoo/demozoo/issues/17 gets implemented - when we can do it in a much smoother way :)

radman - 01:42 1 February 2014 #

Duplicate records found. One of these two may be deleted, it does not matter to me which one:

http://demozoo.org/sceners/27886/

http://demozoo.org/sceners/17405/

dipswitch - 13:16 1 February 2014 #

radman: done, deleted the least complete one.

tomaes - 09:41 3 February 2014 #

http://demozoo.org/productions/98760/

It's probably worth mentioning, that this demo switches resolutions like crazy. ;) It uses five different screen modes: 512x400, 640x480, 320x200, 512x600, 640x400.

Shinobi - 11:39 3 February 2014 #

http://demozoo.org/music/99274/

This was released by me.

In the end of the remote entry email I wrote something like "Cheers, Shinobi / Marcus"
and apparently it got interpreted as a group name, d'oh :)

Shinobi - 11:40 3 February 2014 #

http://demozoo.org/sceners/24657/

menace - 12:17 3 February 2014 #

Tomaes: Note added.

Shinobi: Seems your stuff was already fixed by some other friendly soul :)

Shinobi - 13:57 3 February 2014 #

menace: no, it wasn't :)

menace - 14:17 3 February 2014 #

SHinobi: errm, then please explain to me what is still off? I don't see a "Marcus" group, at least.

Shinobi - 14:23 3 February 2014 #

menace: yes, there was a new Scener created with name "Shinobi", but that's not my
usual profile (with my other releases). I linked my profile in the second post above.

http://demozoo.org/sceners/24657/

dipswitch - 15:14 3 February 2014 #

shinobi/menace: release fixed, superfluous profile deleted.

Shinobi - 15:20 3 February 2014 #

Thanks menace & dipswitch :)

menace - 05:02 4 February 2014 #

Shinobi: Ah, sorry for misunderstanding the issue :) Thankfully, Dipswitch got it!

tomaes - 10:29 4 February 2014 #

http://demozoo.org/sceners/15863/

You can set her real name. (see http://www.raquelmeyers.com/who)

menace - 11:21 4 February 2014 #

tomaes: Done.

radman - 23:53 4 February 2014 #

http://demozoo.org/groups/15053/

http://demozoo.org/groups/37053/

I believe these two entries are referring to the same group and should be merged :)

menace - 06:55 5 February 2014 #

radman: Hmm, was not aware of an ascii subdivision of the Polish-based Amiga demo group Katharsis. If you don't mind, I'll indulge in a slight bit of research before merging the two :)

tomaes - 11:00 5 February 2014 #

http://demozoo.org/productions/8157/

Please delete the screenshot (it's the one taken from pouet). Although the font _is_ weird, it doesn't have to look _that_ bad. ;)

dipswitch - 11:38 5 February 2014 #

radman: these are definitely two different groups.

dipswitch - 11:50 5 February 2014 #

although, in fact i'm not so sure anymore, after looking at https://www.scene.org/dir.php?dir=%2Fresources%2Fbbs%2Fkatharsis/ -- the bbs modding group katharsis appears to be a polish group, since they greet "the polish scene" in their infofiles. but their file_id.diz logo is the same one as one I have seen used by kts!a. did they rip it, or is it indeed the same group after all? at least tinyZ appeared to be in both groups IF they are different groups.

radman, do you know more?

radman - 18:01 5 February 2014 #

my understanding has always been that they're the same group, Katharsis, with different branches like many other scene groups. there's no need for me to speculate though, I'll just ask TinyZ directly. :)
