Shelter

- SLT

Shelter was an Amiga and console cracking and trading group, formed in 1996. The group was formed and led by Slapshot, with additional assistance from Shallow and Ten!.

A december 1996 internal news file (later spread as part of the sltdead.lha file), listed Sunbeam (previosuly in Apex) as a new member already having made some releases, and Highper from DCT as a new trader. It further mentioned that M-Plant joined Lightforce, and shortly after left Shelter. It listed Slapshot, vOYAGE!, Bazeman, Craye, The Bird, Sunbeam, Cosmic, Lynxx, Mavis, Javis, X-Poole, Mel, Shallow, Rewdboi, Marodeur, Fazwonga, Artisti, Triangle, Junk, Nicko, Sticky, Bandit, Baffle, Billy and Marwic.

A file was spread on august 22nd 1997 (sltdead.lha), proclaiming the group had disbanded, and included a lot of internal member and news files. A couple of days later, a textfile called slt4ever.txt by Slapshot was circulated, stating that the previous announcement was a fake.

Sunbeam, who produced a number of key generators, likely left for Digital Corruption some time between march and april 1998. In a door released in november, Shallow included the text "this is my last door for shelter :(".
