A PD/Shareware BBS that became famous for being attacked by German copyright lawyer and software industry lobbyist Günter von Gravenreuth. Gravenreuth, acting on behalf of the German games company Rainbow Arts, had someone call the BBS to collect evidence, and then sent a cease-and-desist letter to the sysop, demanding that he renamed his BBS and threatening him with a lawsuit worth of ten thousands of deutschmarks. The sysop, a university student without any savings, had no choice but to give in and rename his BBS, yet the case was still brought before court in March 1993. The sysop circulated parts of the correspondence and court proceedings in the SYSOP.GER Fidonet discussion group, from where the documents were spread on scene BBSs by some anonymous Amiga cracking sceners who had a grudge against Gravenreuth as an anti-piracy activist.1 In July 1993, the sysop was found guilty and sentenced to paying over 1000 DM to Rainbow Arts - a sum, however, that was less than demanded by Gravenreuth in court.2
