I can appreciate the motive and the nice colors. The dithering is really weird, why not use 32 colors and proper dithering? The palm of the hand for example for the most part gets only 3 colors, while there could be so many more.
The dithering is not weird bifat. ^^ It is an art style. If you don't like it it's fine to me. I'm an Atari Artist. 16 Colors is my comfort zone. And I don't needed 32 colors on this work. It would be a waste of colors. For the palm, call me a lazy ass. But time was running out and I don't wanted it smooth.
I hasten to admit that even I can recognize artistic value in this style and was wondering if it's some kind of fad to use fewer colors just because (we have that new fancy dithering technique =). Nothing wrong with that, still I find it would be in a sweeter spot then to also restrict the color resolution to Atari.
However, you have a strong point. If you'd choose to send me a picture like this, it would be a strong candidate for ending up as the background for an effect on top =)
To be honest. I just tagged it as Amiga Art because of the Canvas. 320x256 is not really available on the Atari by "default" and because we are at "SWEET16", love 16 Colors and 16 Bit for all available fitting systems, we try to fit the art into that categories. :)
