In the Chalk newsletter CHLK1094.NFO, Fenric writes that he and Cypher Creed founded the artgroup in August 1994. Not long after, his old friend Blazing Shadow leader of UC F/X decided to merge.
Many members of the group were based in New Jersey. But after one Chalk artpack, Fenric wrote in December 1994 for BKN-1294.NFO that nearly the whole of Chalk, including the boards merged into Broken.
