Cobra came into being on 02.09.1995 in one pub in Olsztyn. The founders were: BLB, Chris, MacGyver and Mayonez. Cobra was formed out of two teams:
■ Becuel (Best Quality, BQL), which members were: Chris, Mayonez, BLB, Rav and Fatman. The greatest production of the BQL was a game called Becuel Puzzle coded by Mayonez. Other things made by BLB are mainly some graphics and musics.
■ Sharks Team, which members were: MacGyver and Mr. T. This group made two demos but it was nothing special so, Shark Team weren't well known on the scene like BQL and they hadn't many contacts. At the beginning Cobra was only a Atari XE/XL crew.
Another member of the group was Hermes. In march 1996 Winio joined. He was the 1st Falcon owner in the group.
On QuaST Party 1996 three new members joined the group: Eros (STfm owner), Kuchara and Wódz.
In autumn '96 Chris bought STE and in june '97 MacGyver bought a Falcon. Cobra made a F030 section. At the beginning of 1997 Kuchara & Wódz joined to Excellent and left Cobra in a first half of 1998.
After QuaST Party 1997 Mayonez bought an STE and Cobra made a ST/STe section. In September '97 they were joined by Legwan (ex-Shadows graphician) and Martin (CNF member).
In 1997 and 1998 Cobra was co-organizer of QuaST party.
Until August 1997 the group released only productions for Atari 8bit. Mainly they were music, graphics, tools & invitros. They also did two intros: Cobra Team and The Break.
During the Quast 1997 they presented their first Falcon intro - Insanity. After the release of Insanity the group became inactive and was dying slowly.
Just before QuaST 1998, Eros, MacGyver and Mayonez decided to leave Cobra and make a Atari section in the Amiga group Whelpz.
This motivated Winio to work and he started coding. In December 1998, during Last Party 1998 they presented their first Falcon demo - Generation Gap. This fact meant that in January 1999 Mayonez returned to Cobra and a few weeks later Vulgar (ex-Mystic Bytes) joined the crew.
At Error In Line 1999, group presented another Falcon demo called Revertant and a preview of their unfinished ST demo - Awaken.
In the summer 1999 to the group was joined by a leading Polish ASCII/ANSI maker - Riven. After that the group was again asleep and didn't become active. Plans and attempts to reactivate the group did not have the desired effects. In October 2001, erOS asked Mayonez if he can publicize the Awaken preview, Mayonez agreed and erOs released the production.
During the QuaST Party 2003 erOS rejoined Cobra, but it was only a symbolic motion, the group wasn't reanimated. Cobra has never been dissolved, but today it's hard to define team members.
