The Phoenix Foundation was a German C64 demo group, active in 1990-1994.
In November 1990 members were Mac Gyver, Smurf and Desperado.1
It was reported in July 1994 that The Phoenix Foundation had merged into The Airwolf Team, and all members would continue in the latter group. Smurf changed their handle from Smurf to Courage in the process.2
