ArtCore was an amiga-based ascii group, formed in june of 1994 after Mogue left Fire & Ice and asked Manta to form a new group with him. Their subdivision Arte first appeared in august of 1994. In quick succession they recruited Mr. Vain, Deathlord and finally U-Man, and the core group was formed. They quickly became one of the leading ascii groups, releasing more quality collections than probably any other group in history.
On the 27th of june 1994, the group released an ascii collection called The Return of 7rance 7echno. Both 2fast and Mogue were doublemembers of Brilliance in july. July also saw the release of several new collections; 2fast's "Blurred Reality #4", Mogue's "Old But Unreleased" and "Destination? Unknown", and Deathlord's "Jump On My Dick". German Treach joined with FRESH BBS in august, announced in Mogue's collection "Destination? Unknown". Mr.Vain changed his second group from Prodigy to Sunflex Inc in august. August also saw Mogue release "Old But Unreleased #3", Treach release "Hat Da Back" and Nike release "House of Style no. first & last". A text file was spread in late august, detailing why FINAL IMPACT had went down for a while, but would be back later. Late august also saw the release of The Crow's ascii collection "Almost Unreal". 2fast spent some time this year under the alternative handle The Crow (changed to the crow sometime in late july or august), before returning to his old one. Why was Mogue's WHQ Endless Pain and Treach's Fresh BBS not advertised beyond december 94, while both remained members?
Stylez and Tango joined between february and april 1995, H2o between april and july. U-Man opened his bbs Final Impact in august, tagged 'under reconstruction' in boardlists in their collys at the time, and U-Man and Count Zero also became double members of Honey this month; U-Man's double membership in 2000 AD and Squash earlier this year probably expired, then? X-Files 1 (5 november 1995) reported that Mr. Vain and Rapid got kicked, and that the group had split into three: Mogue, Stylez and H2O founded Contra; Count Zero, U-Man and Manta founded Whale - Treach, Tango and 2fast were the last guys in in Artcore and decided to close the group.
