It sounds like perfect real pop with singing and all, and that's why this track shines, but I never found any original track reference, if this actually is a cover. HVSC's STIL doesn't mention anything on this track, and this should logically be where this kind of information would have been put, I think.
dma: I put the tag, because I recall having heard the original track somewhere, it was a real song with lyrics and all, but unfortunately, I can't remember what it was right now though.
8580 signifies the MOS Technology 8580 sound chip, found in the Commodore 64 line of computers. 8580 is often referred to as the "new SID", since it was the second of two models - the 6581 preceded it in older models of the Commodore 64. More information at Wikipedia).
