We just passed another little milestone - we now detail, in more or less detail, 70,000 pieces of demoscene-related music.
Much of it even playable right in the browser, thanks to the quite wonderful Cowbell! If you're not aware, you can drop-in a download link to eligible formats from one of the supported platforms - scene.org (not inside archives), modland, or modarchive - and you'll have instantly enabled playback in the browser! We even made a little thingiemabob that lists a subset of tunes that are eligible but do not have download links - clicky clicky - and you can help by dropping in some links in there!
So, fast forward then I guess, to the next milestone :)
X! Every two years, we get a new X party. If you've been living under a rock, X is pretty much the C64 demoscene Olympics, and where all the big guns unleash their firepower. And such firepower! We're got the complete results integrated into Demozoo now, and the files are available on scene.org, so really - fire up your machinery, and get to it. We're really not worth this embarrassment of riches.
By all accounts, this weekend's TRSAC was filled with Magic and Straf, as it should be, and the contestants produced some cracking entries for everyone else to marvel at after the fact. Just so happens, those results and those files just dropped and are available for everyone, so let's get some screenshots and some credits and whatnot going, shall we? :)
Our friends at Deadline just held a hell of a party this weekend, and if you were unable to attend we can now present the results and files from the event. By all accounts it was an excellent event, with even more excellent contributions, so get stuck in and have a look, and remember to comment on your favourites :)
Deadline 2018 on Demozoo / on scene.org
The one and only demoparty in South America was being held in Buenos Aires, Argentina last weekend and the results and releases are all in! There are many productions to enjoy this time, with a big focus on text art (ANSI/ASCII/PETSCII/Teletext, whatever floats your boat). We'll take this opportunity to salute our fellow demosceners many kilometers away in South America and to thank the Flash organizers for their diligence in getting the party's output on scene.org and Demozoo.

Riverwash 2018 took place last weekend in Katowice, Poland and the results and all the many releases are already available.

Check out the releases from this Amiga event that took place in Chełm, Poland: a handful of demos and plenty of graphics and music entries.

We've just received a sizeable shipment of demoscene items coming all the way from Saint Petersburg. As often with Russian demoparties, there was a lot of love for the ZX Spectrum, but plenty of other nice things for more recent platforms as well.

Demozoo encompasses a ginormous amount of productions across an equally gargantuan set of platforms and graphics modes and what have you. We'd like to have each and every single one screenshotted, but alas it's a big mountain to climb and we're not quite there yet. But, if it's anything we've proved since we started, it's that a little preserverance goes a long way - so let's get started fixing that, yeah? So, to kick it all off, we're arranging a second weekend-long for screenshotting ALL THE THINGS! We've set aside september 21st to 23rd - so we hope you'll show up, hang out in our Slack, and let's help each other by brininging in even more colors to paint our canvas. Colors! So many colors!
Last time out, we put some time into a document about screenshotting productions for various platforms that you can find here - perhaps there's an emulator you've never figured out, or some way on your native platfrom that you were not aware of? And if you have any corrections or ideas going forward, be sure to ping us about that too. We've got some updates for the Windows stuff coming up before the event, for sure!
