There's a new Australian demoparty in town, in the tradition of the old Flashback and Syntax. The first Switch On ever just took place in Queensland and some people attended and made things. "Very well, I hear you say, but what about the releases"? Look no further, we got them all.
See what we did there? Yeah, I know. HILARIOUS. Anyway, the files and results from this weekend's Decrunch event in Poland are in, so time to start digging through some releases :)

All the graphics are now viewable, and all the tracked music is playable right in the browser.
The 27th (!) edition of Birdie was held at the end of May in Uppsala, Sweden. Nowadays it's more of a big LAN party but demoscene competitions are still being held in parallel. The files and results are just a click away.
This past weekend, The Netherlands celebrated the demoscene in style at Outline - the longest running annual demoparty there. The results came out yesterday, but it is only today that we can enjoy the full gamut of files, as they were uploaded to scene.org and are now all fully available :)
We're back! The second Hackathon will take place on july 8th, 2017. Again, we hope as many as possible of our users will be able to come hang out in our Slack team (not there yet? Go to http://slack.demozoo.org/ and get signed up!), and collaborate on getting a lot of stuff done in the space of a single day!
The traditional sense of a "hackathon" involves coding, but we're using the term liberally - hacking on Demozoo can just as well involve tackling a task that involves data, visuals, or anything else. We'd like to accomodate our non-coding attendants as well, which in this case means creating a purpose-built page for different tasks that needs tackling. It will go live on the morning of the event, and we'll make sure that there is something for everyone to do, whether your field of interest is demos, graphics, music, tiny intros or anything else.
Having said that, we hope to close a good number of issues on our Github during the day as well :)
So, with that we will just say we hope to see as many as possible of your faces on Slack on july 8th. Let's get some stuff done!
The website for this years' Solskogen is now live, so you can get all the info you need if you're attending the party of the summer just outside Oslo, Norway in july. Tickets are available right now, so book your flights early and start looking forward to it! :)
Go to solskogen.no right now for further info!
There's also a Slack you can join if you have questions, or just want to hang out - go to slack.solskogen.no to get invited.
And see the Solskogen party series page for just some of the AWESOME productions this party has spawned over the years!
Very Important Party 2017 was held last weekend near Lyon, France. The results have been out for a few days but we're still waiting for a complete releases package. Individual files are slowly and spasmodically trickling in, we'll keep our eyes peeled for the rest.
[Update: all releases are now available on scene.org!]

Wap-Niak is an Atari 8 bit party that's been held yearly in Poland for the past few years. The 2017 edition just closed its doors and the results and some of the releases are now available. Stay tuned for the missing entries.
This weekend's QBParty in Sülysáp, Hungary was apparently another succesfull entry in the series, judging by the contributions!
The full results and files are now available, so go explore and comment and do all that wonderful stuff you do :)
The site Flashtro had a lot of problems recently, with hosting trouble, old software and finally a failing database. So they started rebuilding from the ground up, and finally relaunched with a completely new site - and most of the old content, still.
If you're not familiar with Flashtro, you will find a great community there, focused on the cracking scene of yesterday. This includes modern webremakes, but also some retro-cracking and a lot of reminiscence about times past.
