Frozen Tormentor was president of iCE, until they sold their modem and left the scene towards the end of 1991, as revealed in Illuminatus.

In an interview with Not! #4, FT says he started BBSing in 1989-90 and was inspired by some of GRIMM's ansi artworks. Initially he and The Sorcerer wanted to start a cracking group, but neither of them could crack or supply, but both were drawing adverts for their future group, "Insane Crackers Erruption" (sic). After completing a number of VGA and ANSI artworks, they decided they had talent and should "do some art groups".

He remembers ICE being formed on January 1991, initially with 3 members, himself, The Sorcerer, and a programmer, The Minister. And believes they were the first group to create VGA loaders for BBSes, as The Minister worked out how to take Deluxe Paint .LBM images and convert them to DOS .COM executables. But he believes the group got taken more seriously after Slam Dunk left AAA to join ICE and later when Mondoman killed his group and also joined.
