The Duke was a mailswapper.

Swapper adverts in Stolen Data #10 (december 1992), Nevermind 3 (march 1993), Brain Damage 1 (november 1994), and Scene Talk 7 (1994).

The Duke disappeared from the Abyss memberlist at some point between august of 1994 and late june of 1995. The june 1995 diskmagazine Brain Damage 3 reported that The Duke had left the scene.
