The Magic Arts was formed in august of 1989, by former members of Vision Factory and some others, and by the time they were interviewed for Cracker Journal 16 (october 1989) they had 8 members.

Cracker Journal 19 (march 1990) reported, "The Magic Arts cooperate with Hurricane under the name The Best." The august 1990 diskmagazine Hack-Mag 1 reported that The Magic Arts had disbanded, and changed their name to Elite.
