In an interview with Lancelot 2, Marauder states this board started out in 704 (North Carolina) in early 1984 as "The Dark Side of the Moon" and ran until 1988.

After moving to 305 in late 1989 for work the board returned as a non-elite public board. But he got bored of the legitimate software scene, re-branded the BBS to State of Devolution and started over in the elite scene.

In 1993 after getting heavily involved with Razor it became their US Headquarters and switched to running PCBoard.

Between a february 27th 1995 and a march 1st Razor nfo, the bbs changed name from State of Devolution to Razor 1911 USA HQ, and sysop name from Marauder to "SoD Sysop". We do not know what triggered that change.

It ran for RISC in february 1993 (2 nodes), for Razor 1911 between january 1994 (4 nodes) and march 1995 (10 nodes), and for Eclipse in april 1995 (6 nodes).
