(usa/1990/bbs association) - B.A.D., B.Æ.D., BÅD

This BAD branding is found in a number of 1990, USA BBS adverts that were created by some members of Aces of Ansi Art and Classic Vocs. It seemed to have been an elite user group or BBS association. The early ads often had the tagline, “The User Group of The 90’s”.

It is probable BAD stands for BBS's Against Dweebs, an acronym returned by the Makronyms application from 1991.

The July 1990 National BBS List #8 mentions they had some drama with TSAN and the next issue (currently lost) would go into the specifics. The Pirate World #2 also covers the drama and calls it a “sysop group war”.

This association is not to be confused with Bad Ass Dudes also from 1990 or Bitchin’ ANSI Design from 1992.
