Substance was a Polish-based pc demo group, formed in 1993 by previous members of Fear (at least Jasper, Marqs (later Camel), Saracen, Unreal).

The april 1996 diskmagazine Bad News 4 reported that Damage changed his handle to Shadow, and left Opium for Substance, and that Chaser had joined while retaining his membership in Amiga group Flying Cows Inc. It further revealed that Peete changed his handle to Draken, and listed Chaser, Draken, Falcon, Hatson, Jasper, Key G, Morbus, Raiden, Shadow, Vildis and Yarpen as members at that time.
