Wildfire

(atari) - WF

Wildfire was founded in 1991 by Winter, his brother and their friend Stormbird. They were all 15-17 years old at the time. They worked on a musicdemo, Life's a beat, when 14 year old Coder/Musician Magic Fingers (aka Baggio) joined the crew in 1992.

After the musicdemo was released, work immediately begun on a "real" demo. Winter did all of the coding with some concept code for the effects done in pascal by Alex and Magic Fingers (Baggio). Despite the motivation they had for making a real demo it took alot of time mainly due to Winter focusing on his university-studies. They also had a guest-screen in the demo coded by Peylow of T.O.Y.S and they believe it was a spectrum-4096 rotozoomer. They thought it looked cool anyway. The demo was released in 1995 and even tho it wasn't a masterpiece of a demo, they were very happy with it.

Around that time they were also joined by a finnish coder called Gemmi, who provided some code for their upcoming demo Immortalize. Magic Fingers (Baggio), also asked some of their friends to help them out with a few effects in order to make their new demo a little bigger as they had noticed that Winter seemed to have less and less time for democoding. Immortalize was the last demo that Winter worked on. He, along with his brother and Stormbird, had shown less and less interest in demos and they simply retired.

At this time Baggio felt the crew was dying and decided to ask a good friend, Deez (who was then in the group Mind Design), to join them and he agreed. Deez was currently focusing only on the Falcon at this time and released a few small intros and a slideshow. He did most work on these productions by himself.

In 1998 Baggio got in touch with a friend who he met over the internet (and had lost touch with) while he was in highschool. His nick was Zounds and he was already coding in assembly when he helped him out by sending him some of his code, specificly some blitter-routines. He was then very eager and motivated to do some coding again and joined the team.

During a couple of years Deez and Baggio worked on their demo "Tut!" which was released at Silly Venture 2000 in Gdansk. They esp like to
mention the help and support they had from wizzcoders Kalms/TBL and Ultra/Cream during this time. They also made a small falcon invitro for the Alternative Party 2002 in finland. At this time only Baggio, Deez and Zounds were still active in the group and hence they decided to get a fresh start by starting a new demogroup called Evolution.
