Awe Lettering was an art group, active from October 1996 to January 1999.
Their first release listed Circus Freak, Colourless, Eerie, Fluor, Fury, Grindstone, The 4th Disciple and The Night Angel as the initial members.1 The following pack revealed The 4th Disciple leaving for Klex, as well as Cheeze, Pzyko, Samurai, Skold, Warpus and Widowmaker being new members.2
In March 1998, they welcomed Brane, Riddler (from Fire) and Zalt, while saying goodbye to Gunthar (joining Fire), Magnetic Rage (leaving the scene), Looney Toon (for inactivity) and Menace (kicked out) - so members were The Night Angel, Grindstoned, Fluor, Nahal, Fat Pacifist, Discyple, Fluor, Mass Murderer, Nemo, Shrimp, Agathocles, Brane, Fat Pacifist, Zalt, Bizzarro, Impulse, Inertia, Knocturnal, Mr4tune, Phony Eye, Plazz, Riddler, Samurai, Splatt, Squarepusher, Unsane, Vade79, Brain Dust, Megga Hertz, Random and Zoltar.3
Fokus #1 (March 1999) wrote, "In case you dont know, we are a group formed from the shambles of the now defunct Awe Lettering." and "Another point that i'd like to talk about is the how and why of the death of Awe Lettering. There's a lot of confusion/rumors concerning it. I just want you to understand that WE DIDN'T KILLED AWE, Tna did it. We decided to quit and make Fokus because we didn't liked the ambience, the instability and the non-motivation of it's members."
