2000 AD was a Danish-based multiplatform demo and cracking group, formed on the C64 when the group Illusion 2016 changed their name on october 8th, 1987. The eventually branched out to the Amiga, and even the pc platform. Early releases around october listed Apollon, Blitz, Droid, Jolly, Network Ten and Unit One as members - though soon after Unit One disappeared and Softtech appeared.123
2000 A.D. Party was released at the Hexagon Party in october 1988, and announced Frenzy, Savage and Laxity had left the group for Starion.
The group arranged the 2000 A.D. Party 1989 in June. Drake left to rejoin Contex around september 1989.
The C64 section disbanded in 1990.
Dutch sysop Sectorcharger (Logic System) joined from Endless Piracy in 1992, and became the group's new EHQ. Plasma-Sumpen (june 1992) listed A38, Ozzy, Resize, Zeno, Zogu, Splatter II, Spasm-One, Cruzz, Delirium, NVT, Anxious, Chrome, Ghost, UFO, Energy, Tarzan, DD7 and Gizmoduck in Denmark, Yonex, Wize, Firelord and Misery in Sweden, Sectorcharger, Cash and Art in The Netherlands, Fornax in Germany, Mike in Belgium and Psycho in the USA as members at that time.
Upstream 1 (january 1993) reported the group had recently recruited a lot of bbs sysops - Spider / ex Legend (Dream Park), Fix / ex TRSI (Fastline), Sectorcharger (Logic System) and the sysop of the bbs 100 Percent. In addition, Ozzy opened the bbs Valhalla. Fornax / ex Vogue left for Dual Crew with the bbs Europe's Heart, Circulator left with Virtual Reality for Supplex, and Tarzan left with Plastic Passion for Skid Row. Misery joined from Nation. Firelord joined from from Danger Productions, but was kicked after a while. Saracon left. Dusty, Shark & Wize were kicked. Shark joined Palace. Energy did not rejoin, as some rumours said.
The Amiga section was announced to be dead in November 1993 (see here).
Jazz Jackrabbit +4 Trainer (august 1994) listed Leatherman (president), Violent Fighter, Replicator, Jammer, Wacko, Prof Do Right, Ferox, Hammerfist, Killerwolf, Mr. Magoo, Onyx, The Master, Slayer and Xenia as members at that time. Terminal Terror +5 (october 1994) contained a memberlist that revealed Prof Do Right, The Master and Xenia had left the group since then, and that The Teacher, Wh00sh, Da Balhed, Nermal Triton, Ace, Zealot, 187, Pagan, Power, Steed, Stripe, Poseidon, Mason, Snorf, Disciple, Hifly, Tosh 10, Manhunter, Heinreich and Evilboy were new additions since then.
Ignition Microtrainer (october 1997) came with an nfo, listing Leatherman (president), Darktrooper, Gee Money, Gravedigger, Imposter, Sicko (council), Druggy, Khayman, Muppet King, Pagan, Sparhawk, Oxidion and Exeron (members) as the members at that time. Frogger +2 Trainer (november 1997) came with a new nfo, revealing "Leddy has taken a break from cracking since Real Life requires him to actually do some work in his job.", and also revealing Darktrooper and Oxidion were no longer in the memberlist while Digi-Vee (council), [Rizz], Binx, Pain, GH1, Gordon, c1, Benxx, AdEpt and Mallow were new additions to the list.
The Divide +2 Trainer (february 1998) came with an nfo proclaiming, "We welcome our new teammate Dizzident" and listed Leatherman (president), Sicko, fEARfLiGHT, DizziDent (council), Khayman, Muppet King, Exeron, Agnostic, Osis, Vots, Imposter, Gravedigger, Sonet, Seiok, YeYo, CX5, Snap, Tragen, ShadowSeeker, REACTOR, hiLLBUR, Cybergod, belial, ttocs and D|Thunder as members at that time.
Having not made any demoscene releases since 2000, this group is considered disbanded.
