Artwork was a mainly German Amiga demo group, formed in november of 1994 when Damion from Platin (editor of Generation) formed this new group together with Voyage from DCS. Within days Cockroach and JMS joined from DCS, and The Loop, Jive and Detector from Platin. Soon after wellknown talent like Tron, Fiver and Noogman followed.
With their very first production, the demo Greenday in april, they won the competition at the Black Box Symposium 1995! SMT was recruited from Haujobb late in the year. Nothing more was released before december, at The Party 1995, where the 40k intro Creep in cooperation with Polka Brothers and the 4k intro Dawn both won their respective competitions.
In 1996, they continued recruiting talented members such as the legendary ex-Sanity graphician Cougar, who first joined as a double member. They won again at the Symposium 96 with the demo "The Gate" - and Azure took home the trophy for best 40k intro at the same party with "Dawn.Remix". Azure's next intro, "Phi" came 2nd at the South Sealand party. German coder Axis left to form a group of his own late this year.
The release of Generation 24 in april of 1997 announced Detector was leaving the scene.
The april 1998 4k intro srorriM came with an info file announcing Damion, RokDaZone, Noogman and Virgill had left the group for Endzeit. For Assembly 1998, Artwork released their only demo on a non-Amiga platform with Proton. It was a direct result of recruiting the german ex-Matrix members Sharon, Skyphos, Aurelius and [Nero](https://demozoo.org/sceners/530/. The production remained their only one for Artwork, leaving to reform their old group Matrix again shortly after its release.
