Symposium 1996 was held at the Burg Seevetal hall in Hittfeld near Hamburg, Germany. Organizers had previously organized the 680xx Convention, Black Box Symposium and the Fried Bits last year. About 640 people attended.
Invitations appeared in X-Files 1 (5 november 1995) and Bad News 4 (5 april 1996).
Reports appeared in the diskmagazines Showtime 2 (april 1996), Flash 1 (16 may 1996), and Brainfart 6 (december 1996).
