The Amega Party 1991 was held at a school in Porsgrunn, Norway for the Amiga scene. Often referred to as the 'Porsgrunn Party'. About 800-900 people attended. The invitation promised a 24h cafeteria, separate sleeping facilities, three large rooms, and lots of classrooms available for the attendees.

There were criticisms directed at the party, since promises made in the invitation were not held. First of all, the entrance fee mysteriously rose before the party opened. A jury of 8 people were appointed to judge the competitions, no public voting was carried out. According to Amega Party Music Competition, "THERE WERE 82 DISKS WITH ALMOST 150 TUNES", though only 11 were preselected, judged and ranked. Maniacs of Noise competed with two tunes, none of which were selected by the jury. Despite stating in the invitation that noone could compete in the competitions unless they were present at the party, Heatbeat came 2nd in the music competition without attending. Ducky, Virus and Xozet of Xite all competed in the music competition, but were in fact only one person. Prizes in the graphics and music competitions were 2000 NOK for first, 1000 NOK for second, and 500 NOK for third. In the demo competition, 10,000 NOK for first, 2000 NOK for second and 1000 NOK for third. Lower ranked entries were given disks.
