Onslaught

- ONS

Onslaught are a c64 demo group, formed and based in Australia since 1995. Bio adapted from The History of Onslaught by Jazzcat, as it stood on their homepage on june 9th, 2014.

The birth of the group was announced on february 1st, 1995 through the note Violent Birth, spread with their first real release, the crack for Misfortune 3-Level Preview. Within, the founding members were listed; <Jazzcat from Legend, Vengeance and Morbid from SCS+TRC, Majesty and Morrisey from Talent (sysop of Down By Law), Ignorance and Chrysagon from Dytec, Shades, Insane and Xerez from Shazam!, Deathlok from Padua, Heavyhead (double join from Camelot, sysop of Westpoint), Bizarre from Trance, SMD from Motiv8, Eliminator (double join from DOD), Insomniac from Sphere, Chotaire from Chromance (sysop of The Pirate Island), Deekay from Crest and finally Xentor and Promethus who were both independent before joining. Dodger (previously in Dytec) and Shok'Ray (inofficial member, previously in Sorcerer, Dreamlover...) left for Hitmen around september 1995 while Pete joined Chromance as a second group. Homeboy and Stake decided to end their double memberships in Chromance, and took Joyride (sysop of Hightway) with them. Baze (swap, formerly of Illusion) got kicked out for inactivity. The cooperation with Hardcore ended late this year. After getting the board DEAD ZONE from Excess around september, the board was unfortunately blacklisted shortly after.

The Unholy joined in january 1996 (but only as a second group; Demonix will remain his focus) in order to help the group fix their releases. Also in january, Ramirez and Shocker from their previous partners Hardcore joined, and Bizarre got caught for abusing a german vmb, and will reportedly face a fine of no less than $20.000!

Onslaught Antiques was a retro-cracking section of the group, dedicated to releasing 'perfect' versions of classic games, fixing bugs, shorting the crack etc. They were formed in february of 2001. There are reportedly seven members, none of which are members of the 'other' Onslaught, and none of who are disclosing their names. On october 7th 2001 c64.sk announced, "Onslaught gained a new member called DaFunk, a musician from Yugoslavia".

A number of people updated their csdb profiles to indicate they had joined Onslaught in early 2012; On the 20th of january CONS joined; on february 13th Sonic joined, and february 14th, Algorithm joined the group.

In december 2013, their homepage listed Jazzcat, Macx, Slator, Adam Morton, Algorithm, Almighty God, Conjuror, CONS, Deev, Ed, Elder0010, Enthusi, Fix, Grip, Leming, Owen, PSycHo8580, Pugsy, Scout, SoNiC, SounDemoN, The Ignorance and ZZAP69.

At Syntax 2014 in november, the group released their first real pc production - Singularity. Included with the release was a memberlist of pc members, listing Anthrium, Algorithm, CONS, DJB (returning to the scene after a hiatus), Drift, Jazzcat, Neurosis, N3XU5, SoNiC and Squeakyneb.
