Dual Crew Shining

- DCS

Dual Crew Shining (DCS) is an international Amiga and console demo and cracking group, born in april of 1993 when the two groups Dual Crew and Shining merged. Originally a demo group, they also released a few cracks early on and later ventured into other ares like the boardscene, and remained active for a long while on the handheld consoles scene after the amiga scene died out - most prominently the GameBoy Color (GBC) and GameBoy Advance (GBA). Stookie, the original founder of Dual Crew, is still an active member.

The formation of the group was announced at The Gathering 1993 in april, through the intros Anvend Handkle and Aprilfool. At the 680xx Convention 1993 in early august, the Essence pack Broken Tankard 15 welcomed Raw Style as a new member from DCS. The next releases were the musicdisk Sonic Attack and AGA Multitasking Demo in august. The intro November Rain came around in the last week of november 1993, and announced Doom as a new member.

DCS Graphics was a co-arranger of Virtual Conspiracy 1995 in Nyköping, Sweden at the very end of march.

DCS arranged the party Remedy 1997 in Solna, Sweden in june 1997. Shape released the 64k intro Kala at Demolition III in october of 1997, reaching fourth position in the competition. It was followed with another intro at The Party 1997 in december, but Blues was only rewarded with a 13th position.

They reached second place at The Gathering 1998 in april with Nebula. The group co-organized Motorola Inside 1998 at the end of july. In august, Deetsay and B made A Little Intro At Assembly 98 in two days, and came 7th in the 64k intro competition.

A file marked Official Dual Crew - Shining News #3/99 July announced Relief was dismissed (the last remaining Danish member), that Zeff had been dismissed, and that Los, Blaze & Evan were new members. It further listed Shape, Speedo, Deetsay, Adam, B, Kidlove, Boost, Los, Fthr, Doc, Markus, 13, Illusion, Muffler, Substance, Dual, Carebear, Fluffy, Tweek, The Hooligan, Wrec, Obligator, Haka, Truxton, Crash and Mamba in Finland, Zaz, Metal Maniac, Purepain, Iridon, Mutant, Tommy, Mortimer Tee, Snuskis, Mike, The GNN and Stookie in Sweden, Optic and Xhale in Norway, WOTW in Germany, Bonzaj, Blaze and Evan in Poland and finally Sal-One in the Netherlands as active members.
