Skid Row is an international Amiga cracking group, born in the summer of 1990 by Metallica on the ashes of two other groups that died around the same time; Paranoimia and Supreme (formerly Def Jam). As far as we have been able to determine, they made their first releases in july of 1990. The july 13th crack intro for Street Rod contains a memberlist counting 13 names, giving a good indication of the initial membership status. Those names were: Al Capone, Bandit, Destro, Eurosoft, FFC (previously in Vision Factory), Jeff Kirk, Metallica, Papillon, The Agnostic, The Corsair, The Hellion, Tiger and Zodiac. Mace joined from Image around september. The group Valhalla entered into a cooperation with Skid Row in october, but shortly that group's best members (Arnie, Creeping Death, Copyrighthunter, Wiseman and Hawk) left Valhalla for Skid Row to be full members, and Valhalla disbanded.
The february 1991 crack intro for Lemmings welcomed Iron Men to the group. The july crack intro for Battle Chess II welcomed Harvester of Sorrow as a new member, along with his board Celtic Circle - which soon after renamed into Creeping Death. Germans Rudi, Selim (sysops THE JAM) and Oliver all joined the group from The Company, some time after august 1991. In november, new members Magic Drummer (Crack House), Scout and Paradise King were announced.
The february 1992 diskmagazine R.A.W 2 reported that the sysop of Metropolis changed his handle to Scout, and moved from Quartex over to Skid Row; that Magic Drummer joined with his bbs Crack House and finally that Rudi left the group and Selim left the scene (the two ran the bbs system The Jam together). After the demise of Infinite Perfection, Shut Berlin returned to the group in january 1992 with his bbs World Trade Center. Jake's board Terminal Disaster first appeared on the boardlist around march. Nosferatu's board Danse Macabre appeared first in late march. The april crack intro Links Golf welcomed Purple Dragon II as a new distribution site. Gazoo's board Wild Warez and Reaktors' board Desolate One both first appeared in may.
